Hours & Admission

Welcome to the Henry Botanic Garden!

The garden is open by appointment only.

During the current period of renewal/restoration, visits to the garden are restricted to guided tours by reservation for small groups on Thursdays from 10 am to 3 pm. Admission is $10.00 per person and includes a one-hour tour.

We recommend that you make a tour reservation at least one week in advance.

Parking: Please be aware that parking is extremely limited. Appropriate footwear and attire for rugged terrain is strongly suggested.

We look forward to welcoming you to the wilderness garden with plants native to North America, selected and trialed by Mary G. Henry.

Garden Etiquette

This is a wilderness garden.  Please be aware of your surroundings and treat with respect the animals, birds and insects that share this space with us. Please also respect others visiting the garden. Please respect the living landscape by not picking flowers, plants, fruit or seeds. Sturdy walking shoes and weather-appropriate attire are recommended for safely walking on paths of grass and rocks and dirt that can be uneven and slippery. Please stay on designated paths and do not enter areas of restricted access. Of special note: please be aware of ticks and take extra precautions using tick spray and checking carefully.

The following are not allowed:

  • Smoking
  • Pets
  • Music
  • Games and sports
  • Fires
  • Alcohol
  • Sandals and bare feet
  • Picnics
  • Food and drinks

Cell phones must be silenced, and please use with discretion. We are a Carry-In, Carry-out facility.

    Directions

    The Henry Botanic Garden is accessible ONLY from Henry Lane off of PA Route 23, Conshohocken State Road in Gladwyne, PA 19035.

    From Gladwyne: Drive west on PA Route 23 .7 miles, and turn right onto Henry Lane. At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Stony Lane and then right at 801 Stony Lane and follow the driveway through the gates to the main building.

    From Conshohocken: Drive east on PA Route 23 about two miles. Turn left onto Henry Lane. At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Stony Lane and then right at 801 Stony Lane and follow the driveway through the gates to the main building.
